Caistorville
Public Library
The Caistorville Womens
Institute initiated a public library to serve local citizens in September
1964. It was situated on York Street with volunteer workers from the membership
of the Womens Institute. After a successful three years in operation at
that site, the library moved into a building on John Street. As a centennial
project Caistorville volunteers built the libray on land donated by Wilfred
Sharp and materials were donated by Slacks Lumber. An official opening
was held in June 1967 and Womens Institute members continued to volunteer
their services until 1969 when the present librarian Barbara Stolys was
hired. In 1974, washroom facilities and a children's room were added.
Construction
of the new Caistorville Public Library at 9549 York Street was completed
in August 2006 and the grand opening was held in October. Furnishings
were made possible by a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Inventory
includes 12,000 books, 112 books on CD's and cassettes plus over 300 children's
videos (Please take a moment and read the Video
and Internet Policies). Four new computers have been received with
a printer, fax machine, copier and scanner available for public use.
